November 2017 Scholarships


Attending college can be quite expensive for students and their families. Luckily, there are many college scholarships and contests available to help pay for a college education. Students should seek out and apply for scholarships in which they meet the eligibility requirements. Below are a handful of scholarships with November 2017 due dates. Check out the full list of November Scholarships – there are currently over 100 scholarships on the list! More scholarships will be added as they become available.

Congressional App Challenge
Sponsor: Internet Education Foundation
Amount: Varies
Closing Date: November 1, 2017
Description: Challenge is open to U.S. students in elementary school, middle school, or high school who live in a Congressional district that is participating (check website for details). Applicant must create any type of app they like on any platform they like.
Young Writers Awards
Sponsor: Bennington College
Amount: Up to $500
Closing Date: November 1, 2017
Description: Students in the 10th, 11th, and 12th grades can enter in one of the following categories: poetry (a group of three poems), fiction (a short story or one-act play), or nonfiction (a personal or academic essay). All entries must be original work and sponsored by a high school teacher.
#BECAUSEILOVEYOU Scholarship Slam
Sponsor: Power Poetry
Amount: $1,000
Closing Date: November 7, 2017
Description: Scholarship is open to students 25 years or younger who are current or former high school students and who attend or is attending college within the U.S. or its territories. Applicant must submit an original poem on what “healthy relationship” means to them.
Prudential Spirit of Community Award
Sponsor: Prudential Financial, Inc.
Amount: $5,000
Closing Date: November 7, 2017
Description: Award is open to all young people in grades 5-12 who live in the 50 United States and Washington, D.C., and have conducted a volunteer service activity within the past year.
Frederick J. Krause Scholarship on Health and Disability
Sponsor: American Association on Health and Disability
Amount: $1,000
Closing Date: November 15, 2017
Description: Scholarship is open to college sophomores, juniors, and seniors who are enrolled full-time and have a disability as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act. Preference will be given to students majoring in public health, disability studies, health promotion or a field related to disability and health.
Education Matters Scholarship
Sponsor: Unigo
Amount: $5,000
Closing Date: November 30, 2017
Description: Scholarship is open to students 13 years of age or older who are legal residents of the 50 United States or the District of Columbia and are currently enrolled (or will enroll no later than the fall of 2023) in an accredited post-secondary institution of higher education. Applicant will need to submit a short response to a given prompt.
Leaders and Achievers Scholarship Program
Sponsor: Comcast
Amount: $1,000
Closing Date: November 30, 2017
Description: Scholarship is open to full-time high school seniors currently enrolled at a high school in a community serviced or approved by Comcast. Applicant must have a GPA of at least 2.8 and student must demonstrate leadership in school activities or work experiences. Program is a nomination-based award, and only one student per school may be nominated by their principal or guidance counselor.
Parent Scholarship
Sponsor: Nitro
Amount: $5,000
Closing Date: November 30, 2017
Description: Scholarship is open to legal residents of the United States and the District of Columbia who have a child who is enrolling in an accredited college or university for the first time (will be a freshman) in the upcoming (2017-2018) school year.
