Math & Science Summer Instructors Needed
To teach one of the following areas:

·         Pre-calculus, Calculus
·         Algebra with Statistics
·         Geometry
·         Trigonometry
·         Intro to Sciences

·         Chemistry
·         Biology
·         Anatomy & Physiology,
·         Physics


LOCATION:      BAHEC, 729 Mass Ave., Miranda Creamer Bldg. (Mass. Ave. & Albany, near BMC)
SUPERVISOR:   Education Coordinator/BAHEC Director
Rate:                $31.25/hour (additional paid for preparation time)
HOURS:           Part Time 2-6 Hours/Week
DAYS/TIMES:   TBD: Class days run from 9AM-3:30 pm, Mondays-Wednesdays
DATES:             July 8, 2013 – August 7, 2013

Responsibilities:
  • Plan and implement Science and Math curriculum geared towards Boston Middle/High School Students interested in Health Professions.
  • Link curriculum to MA Department of Education’s Standards and Frameworks
  • Maintain accurate attendance records.
  • Maintain regular communication with Education Coordinator(s) regarding student progress.
  • Complete mid-program and final evaluations of students and program.
  • Instructors are encouraged to attend a field trip/special event during the course of the program.
  • Attend paid Instructor workshop/meetings on planning, developing, and training activities.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree, MA/MS preferred.
  • Teaching experience.
  • Experience working effectively with students and staff of various cultures and linguistic backgrounds.
  • Experience working with adolescents preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
  • Bilingual/multicultural skills preferred, but not necessary.
  • Creativity and ability to foster curiosity.
  • Ability to facilitate professional and interactive atmosphere.
