LOCATION: BAHEC,
729 Mass Ave., Miranda Creamer Bldg. (Mass. Ave. & Albany, near BMC)
SUPERVISOR: Education
Coordinator/BAHEC Director
Rate: $31.25/hour
(additional paid for preparation time)
HOURS: Part
Time 2-6 Hours/Week
DAYS/TIMES: TBD:
Class days run from 9AM-3:30 pm, Mondays-Wednesdays
DATES: July
8, 2013 – August 7, 2013
Responsibilities:
- Plan and implement Science and Math curriculum geared towards Boston Middle/High School Students interested in Health Professions.
- Link curriculum to MA Department of Education’s Standards and Frameworks
- Maintain accurate attendance records.
- Maintain regular communication with Education Coordinator(s) regarding student progress.
- Complete mid-program and final evaluations of students and program.
- Instructors are encouraged to attend a field trip/special event during the course of the program.
- Attend paid Instructor workshop/meetings on planning, developing, and training activities.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree, MA/MS preferred.
- Teaching experience.
- Experience working effectively with students and staff of various cultures and linguistic backgrounds.
- Experience working with adolescents preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
- Bilingual/multicultural skills preferred, but not necessary.
- Creativity and ability to foster curiosity.
- Ability to facilitate professional and interactive atmosphere.
